A Sustainable Agriculture project in Afghanistan is needed and I am planting a seed. If you would like to support me in forms of administration assistant, public relation, fundraising, or legal assistance in this endeavor please contact me through the addresses or phone number below.

My plan is to move to Kabul as soon as possible (latest by mid Feb '04) and conduct a preliminary study in feasibility of this project. My long-term goal is to find farmland near Kabul and lease it, start an educational center as well as practical application of sustainable agriculture. I understand Dari, which is one of the main languages spoken in Afghanistan. Also I happen to have a Masters degree in the field and have worked on several community farms and market gardens in the United States.

Some facts about the conditions related to agriculture and food in Afghanistan:

There is an emptiness inside of me
A space that I avoid getting to
for the fear of what I might face

When I am garced to recognize the fear
I see it as the childhood ghost
something of long ago
nothing to do with this now

Then I can enter that empty space
and be there for a moment

Vacant for so long
needs a lot of dusting off and cleaning
before I can hear what to do with this space
